About Maeve

Maeve Willan, nee McGrath, is a Figurative Painter. Working from life primarily in oil, with additional works in watercolour and pastel. Her catalogue comprises over 400 paintings and drawings.

 

She studied at the Limerick School of Art and the Slade School of Fine Art Masterclasses in London, and holds a degree in Art History. Maeve has exhibited in over 80 exhibitions widely in London and beyond, including at the Mall Galleries and the Royal Academy of Arts.

Hesketh Hubbard Art Society Mall Galleries (Federation of British Artists):

Best Portrait Prize (2013).

Best Figurative Painting Prize (2007).

 

National Society of Painters, Sculptors and Printmakers:

Best Oil Painting Prize (2009).

Aya Broughton Prize (Highly Commended) (2001).

 

Additional Highlight:

"Hazel in Red" was selected to represent the Hesketh Hubbard Art Society at the re-opening of the Mall Galleries by the Federation of British Artists, comprising the UK’s nine principal art societies (2007).

Exhibitions

Group Exhibitions include:

Mall Galleries Reopening Celebration (2007) and annually at Open and other exhibitions; Royal Academy of Arts Private Event (2000); Regularly in London/home counties with the National Society of Painters, Sculptors and Printmakers, Hesketh Hubbard Art Society, and Richmond Art Society. Other group exhibitions include the Society of Women Artists, Trinity Arts and Crafts Guild, and the Galsworthy Group.

 

Solo exhibition

Menuhin Hall (2015).

Mall, Westminster, Menier, Whiteleys, Osterley House, Lauderdale House, the Embassy of Japan, London (FBA), and ARCIF Fontainbleau (2012 & 2015).
